Street Food Completes the Chicago Travel Experience

Travel to Chicago is incredibly exciting, especially now that the city is also the home of the current president of the United States.  There are outstanding things to see and do throughout the city, and there are also some incredible foods.  The heart and soul of any travel experience is enjoying local street food. Let’s look at what Chicago has to offer.

If you like Indian food or want to try some of the best corn muffins you have ever eaten, try the Rajun Cajun on 53rd street in Hyde Park.  There are plenty of great choices, and the samosas are simply excellent.  If Mexican cuisine is more your style, however, head on over to 449 North Clark Street and check out XOCO.  With tasty churros and traditional hot chocolate that locals go crazy for, this is a Chicago street food option not to miss.

If you love hot dogs or want to try a street food option that Chicago residents simply cannot get enough of, try Portillo’s at 100 W Ontario Street.  While technically indoors, this is street food at its finest.  The hot dogs and Italian beef are incredible, but if you want to know why Chicago restaurants are really coming in in droves… try the chocolate cake shake.  One sip and you will be in heaven.

When you want the true Chicago experience, you have to try some of the city’s remarkable street food.  There are plenty of options on offer, and when you find the right one for you, it won’t be hard to see why everyone is talking about the options on offer here.
