Make a Great Valentine’s Day Card Holder

Valentine’s Day is a great holiday for kids. Kids love receiving Valentines greeting cards, and a home-made card holder can offer a fun way to store and collect them.  Here is how you can help your kids make a fun and simple card holder.

To get started, you will need a brown grocery bag, some yarn, a paper punch, some glitter, some glue, and some heart shapes that you can trace.  Start the card holder by cutting a large heart out of a sheet of paper.  Now lay the heart on your paper bag and trace it.

Cut the heart out and punch holes along the V shape and just over the curves of the heart, leaving enough room for an opening to hold cards.

Using your yarn, loop through each hole like a shoelace and put glue on the yarn ends when you have finished to keep it in place.  Paper clips can be a great way to keep it in place while it dries.  When this is done, you are ready to start decorating your card holder.  Use hearts of different sizes to create unique decorations, and allow the kids to decorate the card holder using glitter and glue or with markers from your neighborhood craft store

Card holders are a great way to let your kids be creative while making something that they will actually use.
