You know that a tall is a small, grande is actually a medium and that a venti means a large. Now that you have it down pat, you have a new one to remember after Starbucks recently announced a new size.
Trenta Iced Tea
The trenta is a whopping 31 ounces of coffee, even though in Italian, trenta actually means 30. The price of the new Starbucks drink is only going to be 50 cents higher than the 20 ounce venti, and it will only be offered in certain types of drinks. You will be able to have iced tea, iced lemonade and iced coffee in the new trenta size.
Starbucks Size Verses Your Stomach Size
The average size of a drink at Starbucks, grande, is 473 ml, but the new Trenta is 916 ml. This poses a problem since the average adult stomach is only 900 ml!
Other Trenta Drinks
Since Starbucks is only offering the iced drinks in trenta size, they claim that the highest the calories will be in these drinks is 230. However, if they change their mind and release some of their other highly popular sweet beverages in the larger size, there is a chance that the caloric content is going to skyrocket. The Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha at Starbucks is already 590 calories in the Venti size.
While Starbucks is a very popular coffee shop, the most popular in the United States by far, the jury is out on whether this new size is a good or bad thing. Only time, and the masses that flock to Starbucks each day for their caffeine fix, will be able to determine if it is a success or not.
