Is the Entertainment News Reported by TMZ Fact or Fake?

Is TMZ real, or is the news they report manufactured for their online audience who just can’t get enough of celebrity gossip? This is up for debate, but over the past year, they’ve actually broken a number of high profile celebrity stories long before the traditional media got wind of them.

While they may have simply been paparazzi when the site first started, their early-bird news stories about Michael Jackson’s death, the many incidents involving Britney Spears, and the Rihanna and Chris Brown incident have proven to be true. They even had exclusive information on Mel Gibson and his tirades that quickly became worthy of the mainstream news.

Though TMZ news may still be sensationalized, they seem to be reporting more facts with their stories these days, albeit in their own unique way. They are on the cusp of the action, and that means that they might not always check their facts before going to print.

What does this mean for readers of their news? It means that you have to take some of what they say with a grain of salt. They might very well be reporting the truth, but the rest of the mainstream news sources are generally more reliable when it comes to hard facts.

Many will never regard TMZ as a real news source though, and that may very well be true at least when it comes to current world events. In the realm of juicy celebrity news though, they seem to be making their mark.
