Comparing the Xbox 360 and the Sony PS3 Which Is Best?

The only debate teens and big-kids-at-heart are concerned about these days is in electronics: more specifically, the eternal war between the Xbox 360 vs. PlayStation 3.  These are the two most powerful systems on the market — at least until 2012.  So which gaming electronics system is worth the money?

As far as hardware is concerned, PlayStation 3 is far superior to the Xbox 360.  While both systems have a 3.2 GHz processor, the PlayStation unit has 550 MHz for graphics compared to the Xbox system’s 500 MHz.  This slight advantage explains why gamers can also play Blu-Ray discs on the PS3, whereas Xbox users can only play DVD discs on their system. Bu ray disc offer better picture quality, and faster response time from all games.

However, many gamers feel that Xbox 360 provides the best original games on the market, including first-person shoot-’em-ups, combat games and RPGs.  The 360 has many war-themed games with hits such as Halo 3 and Gears of War 2.  If you or your children want more offbeat or creative games then PlayStation 3 might be the best choice.  Many mainstream games (such as the GTA 4 and Resident Evil series) come to both systems give or take a week, and there is little difference in terms of graphics.

The greatest advantage of the Xbox 360 is in price.  The system sells for as little as $100 in 2010 (refurbished Xbox Arcade system) or up to $250 for the Xbox 360 Pro.  The PlayStation 3 sells for an average of $300.  However, if you actually add every extra piece you need for the definitive Xbox 360 experience, (hard drive, headset, wireless controllers) then you would probably end up spending the same amount of money.

Regardless of what system you choose, gamers are sure to have fun playing the two most powerful systems on the market today.
