How to Make a Shamrock Cake for Your St. Patrick’s Day Party

The key to making a great cake for St. Patrick’s Day is all about the shape. You want to have a shape that looks like a shamrock to get into the spirit of things.

 

Here, you have a couple of different choices. The simplest way to do it is to head to the  bakers and find a shamrock shaped cake pan. You can find them in a number of places when it gets close to St. Patrick’s Day, including craft stores and even some grocery stores. You can order them online if you can’t find cake pans in your area.

 

To make a simple shamrock cake, you are going to need white cake mix. Make sure that you have the right amount of eggs and oil as determined by the brand of mix that you buy. You will also want to have green food coloring. When choosing your frosting, find one that is white.

 

Add 3 – 4 drops of the green food coloring into the cake mix while you are stirring it. You want it to have a light green color before you put it into the oven. Once you have the color that you want, bake it. When done, take it out and let it cool. Remove it from the cake pan by flipping it upside down.

 

Now, you will get your frosting ready for the cake. Put the frosting into a large bowl and add drops of green food coloring until you get a nice dark green mixed throughout. Frost the cake, and your shamrock dessert is ready to devour.

 

You can use any leftover cake mix to make Shamrock Cupcakes. Delicious!
