How to Cook a Rack of Lamb a Great Holiday Meal

While it may have a reputation as a very fancy and expensive food offering, you might be surprised to learn that a rack of lamb is surprisingly easy to cook.  If you are looking to provide your family with a delectable and flavorsome meal this holiday season, here is a simple but traditional rack of lamb recipe that everyone will love.

You will need:

1 rack of lamb
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
½ cup bread crumbs
1 teaspoon chopped dried garlic
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Salt and pepper

This rack of lamb recipe begins with preheating the oven to 350 degrees.  Use a sharp knife to clean the lamb if needed, cutting the fat and meat away from the bones.  Heat your skillet over medium heat and add in your vegetable oil.  Season your rack of lamb with salt and pepper and fry it in the oil until both sides are brown.

Using paper towels, drain the rack of lamb.  Next, spread the mustard over your lamb.  Mix your parsley and seasonings in a separate bowl with the bread crumbs and pack them onto the mustard, allowing them to stick.

Put the rack of lamb into the skillet, placing the entire skillet into the over.  Cook for about twenty minutes before checking the internal temperature.  When the meat reaches this temperature, remove it and allow to stand for ten minutes.

Slice into chops and serve, noting that rack of lamb is best served at medium to medium rare tenderness.  Enjoy!
