How to Organize a Mother’s Day Brunch Your Mother Will Love

This year, go beyond the traditional gifts you give to your mother on Mother’s Day. Organize a family Mother’s Day brunch as a wonderful way to honor your mother for all that she has done for you.  This will be a great way for her to unwind and enjoy a relaxing meal with her friends and family, without having to worry about cooking or cleaning up afterward.

First and foremost, set a budget.  You don’t want to make reservations at a restaurant and send out invitations only to find out that you are spending more than your pocketbook allows.  Also, if you’re preparing the meal yourself, make a list of items you’ll be making, and all of the required ingredients.  Don’t wait until the morning of to read your recipes and ensure you have all of the tools and ingredients necessary.

A Mother’s Day brunch can be held at your home, at a restaurant or picnic style at an outdoor setting.  If held at an outdoor setting, be sure to have a backup plan in case the weather doesn’t cooperate.  Hire an outdoor tent from a garden center, or use a covered deck to ensure the weather doesn’t interrupt your plans.

While keeping your budget in mind, create a guest list.  A smaller brunch can include just family and close friends.  If your budget will allow, family and some of your mom’s best friends can be invited.  Try to only include younger relatives, as older women will want to be celebrating the holiday with their own children.

Next, you will need to send out invitations.  These can be purchased at many locations or though paper companies.  However, to save on costs, consider making homemade cards either by hand or by creating computer-generated invitations.

Extra touches that you can add to the brunch might be games or a live band.  By considering what your mom enjoys the most, you can create a themed brunch that will create some wonderful family memories.  Include framed photos of your mother with her children, husband and friends around the setting.

For the day, take photos of the memorable event.  With these, you can create a scrapbook with photos and tributes from friends and family.  This will make a fantastic Mother’s Day gift for next year.
