Winter Warmers: A Quick Easy Meatloaf Recipe

There’s just something wonderful about comfort food on a cold winter day.  When you need a great meal that reminds you of home, there are few recipes that can be quite as great as meatloaf.  Today, we will offer the perfect meatloaf recipe to cure your family’s winter blahs.

 

For this meatloaf recipe, you will need:

 

2 teaspoons butter
¼ cup chopped onion
1 ½ pounds ground sirloin 
1 cup quick rolled oats
1 cup tomato juice
½ cup barbecue sauce
1 egg
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon garlic salt

 

To begin the meatloaf, start by heating the butter in a skillet on the medium-low setting.  Sauté the onions until they are tender.  When the onion is cooked, add in the ground beef, tomato juice, oats, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic salt, and half of the barbecue sauce.  Stir together until well blended and press into a meatloaf pan.

 

Bake the meatloaf at 350 degrees for between fifty and sixty minutes, and then spread the remainder of the barbecue sauce over the top.  Return the meatloaf to your oven and bake an additional ten minutes.  When cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and allow it to stand for five minutes before placing on a serving plate. Slice and serve.  Serves 8.
