How Does the Magic Bullet Blender Stack Up in Real Everyday Use?

The Magic Bullet Blender is one of a new series of food preparation and cooking tools to hit the market in recent years.  You’ve probably seen it advertised on television or at your local home improvement store.  This multi-piece blending device promises less time spent in the kitchen and more healthful meals.  How does the Magic Bullet stack up in a real life situation, though?  Does it actually offer real benefits?

It seems that the Magic Bullet gets some pretty mixed reviews from those who have actually used it.  The customers who purchased it expecting it to live up to the hype in the infomercial seem to be the least satisfied, while those who purchased it not really expecting to get their money’s worth seem to be happier.

Overall, there are a few complaints with the Magic Bullet.  One is such complaint that it does not work well when chopping vegetables, particularly if you do not pulse the blender as the instructions state.  Some consumers have actually burned out the motor of their Magic Bullet by not adhering to these directions, so you can add consumer misuse to weigh into the balance. There is also a common complaint that the motor is a little loud for such a small blender.

Another concern with the Magic Bullet seems to be that it really isn’t suitable for preparing food for more than one or two people at the most.  This means that it is limited in terms of usefulness for families, though it can be handy for making less than full servings – such as for pizza toppings, etc.

The best use for the blender is smoothies and health drinks. The blender easily chops and liquefies all soft fruits, mixes it with ice, yogurt or protein drink, and produces a perfect smoothie in under 20 seconds. The ‘single serving’ blender is great if you just want to make one or two smoothies for yourself and your partner.

The small container size reduces mess and waste – if you’ve ever made a whole blender full of banana milkshake, drunk one glass then watched the rest go bad in the fridge because you forgot to drink it, you’ll be delighted with the new serving size of the Magic Bullet.

Most online electronics store consumers tend to rate the Magic Bullet with three and a half stars out of a possible five.  It is definitely not a rip off if you just want it to chop up vegetables, grind coffee or make a quick fruit smoothie, but it might be less than you expect if you have greater demands.
