You Can Easily Cook the Perfect Christmas Ham for Your Holiday Meal

While the turkey is king of the Thanksgiving table, you’ll find that ham is often preferred for Christmas dinner.  Making the perfect Christmas ham can be simple if you know what you’re doing.  Here’s what you will need if you want to serve ham for Christmas dinner this year.

First, you need to have a ham, whole rather than spiral cut.  You also need a twelve ounce can of sliced pineapple, an eight ounce can of maraschino cherries, about fifteen whole cloves, some toothpicks, and a large, lidded roasting pan.  You’ll also need a turkey baster to make your Christmas dinner.

To begin, use a sharp knife and score the Christmas dinner ham in a diamond pattern.  Keep your lines about two inches apart and less than a half inch in depth.  Put the pineapple slices on top of the ham so that the edges of the rings touch each other.  Next, use toothpicks to secure the pineapple slices to your Christmas ham.  In the center of each pineapple ring, place a single cherry and then put the cloves into the score marks.

To cook your Christmas dinner, put the ham in the pan and add a half cup of water to the pan.  Cover the pan with a lid and bake your Christmas ham at about three hundred degrees for an hour.  After an hour, remove the lid and let your Christmas dinner ham bake for another twenty minutes or so.  Once done, remove your ham from the oven and let it stand for about fifteen minutes.

You’ve now made a delicious Christmas dinner ham that the entire family will love!
