Fun Craft Ideas for Your Kids on St. Patrick’s Day

While the adults love St. Patrick’s Day because it is a time to have a few drinks with their friends and party at their local Irish Pub, the kids love it for entirely different reasons. It is a time to think about the magic of the world, to consider leprechauns and pots of gold. Here are a few fun craft ideas that your children can do this St. Patty’s Day.

One craft that your children will enjoy is making a paper leprechaun. You will need to have several different colors of construction paper for this craft: green, brown, yellow/gold, and your choice of skin tone. You can find patterns online, or you can help your child cut and glue the body, legs, arms, head, and hat to the leprechaun. With some of the leftover paper, you can even make a pot of gold.

Another craft that they might enjoy is to make a rainbow painting. Everyone knows that the pot of gold is at the end of the rainbow, so this is a natural for St. Patrick’s Day. To make the craft more fun for your children, let them use finger paint. This craft might be a bit messy, but the kids are sure to enjoy it.

A tasty craft your kids will love is to make a pot of gold using yellow gelatin and a melon. Cut the melon in half and scoop out the insides until it is hollow. Cut the gelatin into cubes and place them in the hollowed out melon half until they overflow like a pot of gold.

You can find more fun ideas at your local crafts store. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
