Foods That Are Not Only Good for the Body They’re Good for the Mind!

On your next trip through the grocery store, you might not be thinking about your mental health…but you should be! There are delicious foods that are not only good for your body; they’re good for your brain.

For starters, spinach helps to guard your brain from age-decline. Instead of iceberg lettuce, try spinach in your salads.

Another food that is great for brain function is tuna. Yellowfin tuna is packed with omega-3 acids, and the vitamin niacin, which protects your brain from Alzheimer’s.

Raisin bran is another great food for thought. It is full of all kinds of goodies from complex carbohydrates to magnesium. This particular mineral helps fight off migraines and other headaches.

Strawberries and blueberries are other foods that protect your brain from age-related effects. They also increase your brain’s ability to learn each and every day. Not to mention they’re delicious in cereal!

In addition to those yummy berries, avocados are another brain food.  They increase your brain’s blood flow.

Many people don’t realize that nuts are great for memory. They are full of vitamin E and should be eaten once a day.

Lastly, kidney beans are a great food for brain function. They are full of a B-vitamin called inositol, which may reduce depression and other disorders.
