Are Convenient Cordless Tools Right For You?

No matter what project you’re working on, you can get the job done faster if you use cordless tools to do it. These days, you can get just about everything cordless. The most useful of cordless tools is a cordless drill, but you can also get cordless nail guns, saving you from lugging a heavy air compressor from room to room. Of course, you can’t go wrong with the original cordless tools – the ones that just use your own power!

If you’re going to invest in cordless tools, start with a cordless drill. You can get tiny models, but they’re really not good for all that much. You can hang things in regular drywall or put together pre-drilled furniture. You can’t, though, get a screw through a stud or drill any holes if you’re doing a woodworking project. They’re not powerful enough. The tools that are best are those that have a lot of power and different settings. The extra power gives you more versatility, and the multiple settings lets you conserve battery power when you need to.

Cordless tools are great, but you have to remember to charge them, too! One of the best things to do is to always buy a second power pack for your cordless item. Keep one on the tool, and the other on the charger. Then when one runs down, you an switch them over rather than having to stop what you’re doing and wait five hours for the first battery to charge. As long as you can keep cordless tools powered up properly, you’ll find that everything goes faster when you don’t have to find outlets and stay in range of the plug all the time. Particularly handy for all those outdoor jobs!
