What You Should Know About Children’s Vitamins


With the extensive selection of children’s vitamins on the market, it can be difficult to know which vitamins for children are best for your child. Vitamin A is great for your child’s eyesight and is most commonly found in carrots. Many children’s vitamins include vitamin A, but you want to make sure your child is getting enough to keep their eyes healthy.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that is most commonly found in almonds and sunflower seeds and can help protect cells from the harmful free radicals that can cause cancer and heart disease. Almonds are a choking hazard for younger children, so make sure your children’s vitamins have vitamin E.


Calcium and iron are also vital for your child’s healthy bones, teeth and blood supply. Calcium is found most easily in dairy, and iron can be found in red meats and beans. Make sure that your children’s vitamins include both of these.


Folate, which is found in spinach and orange juice, is great for helping prevent anemia. Your children’s vitamins should include folate.
