Is Your Pet Interfering in Your Relationship?

Having a pet is a wonderful thing, and can help you enjoy life to a considerably fuller extent.  However, there can be times when your pet interferes with your relationship.  How do you tell if this is happening and how do you stop it?

If you are in a new relationship, chances are good that your pet is not going to understand the change that has taken place.  Your pet is used to coming first, and a bit of jealousy (on both sides!) can be very natural.  In time, this will change, but while your pet is adjusting, the best thing to do is to take things slowly and be patient.

Another way that you can help your pet come to terms with the new arrangement is to involve your new significant other with your pet.  For instance, if you can go to the park, have your significant other come along and play with your pet.  Tossing a Frisbee, running together or simply relaxing beside a lake can help your pet bond with the new person in your life.

Finally, if you are still having trouble getting your pet to stop interfering with your relationship, you might consider dog obedience training.  This will help your pet to follow your commands and leave your significant other alone.  This can easily put an end to all types of interfering behavior, and can also help in other areas of your relationship with your pet.
