Top 5 Healthy Fast Food Choices

When you are looking for the best possible nutrition for yourself or your family, fast food restaurants are simply not the best option.  This isn’t to say, however, that there aren’t somewhat healthy fast food options available out there.  If you are looking to go beyond a simple house salad with low fat dressing, it can be hard to know what is safe to order, both on your wallet and your waistline.

Here are five options for more healthy fast food dining. Keep in mind, however, that any fast food should be enjoyed in moderation as part of a balanced diet.

The Premium Grilled Chicken Classic from McDonald’s offers only 370 calories and 4.5 grams of fat when you hold the mayo.  That’s still a whopping 1,110 mg of sodium, but this is certainly a relatively healthy fast food option when you want to order one of the chain’s sandwiches.

When it comes to Wendy’s, the Ultimate Chicken Grill is their most popular healthy fast food option.  This sandwich, when ordered with only veggies and honey mustard sauce, offers 320 calories, 7g of fat, and only 950 mg of sodium.

Burger King offers their BK Veggie, which is cholesterol free and can be a healthier choice when eaten without mayo.  It has 340 calories and 1,030mg of sodium.

The Fresco Style Chicken Ranchero Soft Taco from Taco Bell has only 170 calories and 730 mg of sodium, while the flavorful tomatoes, onions, and cilantro make the taco delicious.

The last healthy fast food choice is the oven-roasted chicken breast sub from Subway.  With 310 calories and 830mg of sodium and only 5g of fat, this delicious sub can be covered with veggies for extra nutritional value.
