How to Successfully Make Over Your Man

Leave a guy on his own for long enough and he will slowly turn into a caveman.  Showers are for the weak and shaving is a burden.  Lucky he’s got you to keep him on his hygienic toes, otherwise he’d look and smell like he did when you first met.  If you want to take it a step further, use these tips to successfully make over your man.

Step 1 – Understand His Tastes

Men have old habits that are hard to change . Since most of them are stuck in their ways, it can be hard to get your man to participate in a makeover.  If you understand your man’s tastes then you can choose a style that he will like.  Obviously, you will want to make some tweaks here and there which is easy to get away with since he won’t notice.  Avoid choosing clothes that he will absolutely refuse to wear.

Step 2 – Work with His Body Type

Getting a new wardrobe can make your man look like a completely new person.  However just because Johnny Depp looks so hot in grunge gear doesn’t mean your man can pull it off.  Use basic fashion sense and choose clothes that fit his body type.  Blacks are thinning and vertical stripes makes a man look taller.  Stick to a classic look to be sure he will like the clothes.  Avoid fads or bright colors unless he works at Disneyland.

Step 3 – Take Him to a Barbershop or Man-Salon

Women love being pampered.  Getting you hair styled, nails painted, and face exfoliated makes you feel like a princess.  The problem is your man will also feel like a princess if you force him to do those things.  Men avoid indulging in ‘beautification’ because it can be emasculating.

However you can trick him into getting the salon treatment by taking him to an old-school barber shop or a sports themed location.  A manly facial scrub sounds better than gentle exfoliating treatment – although they both do the same thing.

Step 4 – Introduce Foreign Habits

When making over your man, you want to be sure he maintains his new style.  This may require teaching him new skills.  If his usually morning routine is a cup of mouthwash and a spray of Febreeze, then it’s essential you get him acclimated to new habits.  Show him how fun it can be to style his hair before he heads out.  Introduce him to a lint roller, or if you’re brave, show him how to properly use an iron.

Step 5 – Encourage Him to Step Outside His Shell

When men get comfortable, they stop seeking change.  There is only contentment in our minds, no such thing as improvement.  He may be wary to walk outside sporting unwrinkled jeans and clean shirts, as that means Personal Progression.  It’s important that you push him to explore different fashions and styles without being embarrassed.  Give him lots of compliments and even tell your girlfriends to sneak in some subtle flattering remarks.

Use these tips and before you know it you’ll have a brand new looking man.  Next, you can try to work on his personality…. with the emphasis being on the word ‘try.’
