Try Wild Game For a Unique Meal Experience

Wild game once made up a considerable percentage of the food served across America.  However, down the decades, grocery store staples have replaced it.  Wild game has a lot of health and flavor benefits, though, and you might just find that one of the options highlighted below is a great addition to your regular menu.

Buffalo
If you are just starting out with wild game, then you will find that buffalo meat (or bison) is a great way to begin.  This meat is very lean, but offers some excellent flavor.  It has a lot of the same taste as beef, but is healthier for you, and many people claim that it actually tastes better.

Turkey
For the beginner, there is really nothing better than wild turkey to get started.  Wild turkey tastes a bit different from the frozen birds you will find at the store.  The meat is leaner, and it tastes a little gamier.  However, this wild game bird is a very good way to start getting away from those bland store bought regular meats.

Boar
If you want to try something even more different, then wild boar might be the way to go.  This wild game meat offers you a pork-like flavor, but without as much fat.  While the flavor can be somewhat gamy, you will find that it is enjoyable and certainly very different to anything you’ve eaten before.

For those looking for wild game, it can be hard to find your local mega-mart.  Instead, consider shopping with a local grocery store, or even a local butcher or delicatessen.  Online companies can also help you find the wild game that you want.
