How to Show Him You Love Him

Love has the power to build empires or destroy entire countries.  One look in a history book and it’s easy to see the impact this powerful emotion has on us.  Even if it’s so integral to humans, how come it is so difficult to express?

Here are some easy tips to show your boyfriend, husband, or any other guy that you love him.

Tip 1: Be Supportive

Support his decisions, especially if he tries something new.  Men are prideful and when our woman doesn’t support us or even agree with us, it damages our ego.

As a screenwriter, I classify myself as an artist.  Often, when writing something new, I don’t know if it’s any good or not so I turn to my girlfriend, and since the beginning she has supported my work.  Others in my life instead have criticized my decisions, encouraging me to pursue more stable options (which might not have been a bad idea), but I know looking back on some awful screenplays I’ve written, that the support my girlfriend has given me over the years really shows that she loves me.

Whether it be art or science, or any other discipline, support your boyfriend in his career and decisions, just as you’d expect him to support you.

Tip 2: Be Patient

Be Patient.  By this I mean resolve conflicts peacefully.  Emotions run deep in relationships and passions often take the place of reason.  Although in the moment, screaming and cursing may feel good, try to maintain composure to solve issues.  If you can work with your boyfriend through tough times, and are willing to make peace, he will see that you do in fact care about his feelings.  This tip can improve your relationship, as well.

Tip 3: Show Love Through Food

A great way to show him your love is by cooking his favorite meal.  Learn how to barbeque a rack of ribs and get his favorite Lager in a six pack.  A full man is a happy man, and a happy man is one that responds well to affection.

Tip 4: Surprise Him With a Treat

Surprising your man with an unexpected treat is another great way to show your love.  Get him tickets to the next ball game or take him somewhere you know he’d like: snowboarding, jetskiing, even bowling.  Take some time and plan an event for him.  Even if you’re afraid of not getting it perfect, he will appreciate your intentions.

Love does not always have to be a grandiose statement.  Even little gestures, like letting him hang out with his friends for a weekend, or relying on him to fix the speaker cabinet when you have a sneaking suspicion he might break it, shows your appreciation for him and how much you consider his feelings.
