Is Mel Gibson’s Entertainment Career Now Ruined?

Most people who follow the entertainment industry have probably heard by now about the troubles that Mel Gibson, entertainment mega-star, has gone through in the past few years. His public breakdowns and drunkenness of a few years ago were thought to be the worst of his actions, but the most recent tirades that went public showed that he has far deeper problems that he needs to control.

Many people will remember Gibson for the roles that he played in film, roles that catapulted him to superstar status in the entertainment world. He was Mad Max; he was Braveheart; he was one of the top actors in the entertainment industry for decades. People may also remember him for the crazy character of Riggs, whom he played in the Lethal Weapon films. Little did people know that the entertainment giant was a bundle of trouble just waiting to explode.

After the divorce from his first wife, everything started to fall apart for Gibson. His drunkenness and anti-Semitic slurs were just the tip of the iceberg. A few years after he thought he saved his floundering career, his problems compounded with racial slurs and death threats to his girlfriend Oksana. Things will never be the same for his entertainment career. More importantly, his entire private life is in a turmoil that will be difficult to escape.

While Gibson may claim that he is cleaning up his act and getting sober, most people are not going to forgive him for the things he’s done and said. His representatives ditched him and his entertainment career is, without a doubt, swirling downward on his way to obscurity.
