Turn Holiday Leftovers Into Turkey Dumplings

If you are looking to enjoy a post holiday meal that doesn’t result in a chorus of “Turkey again?,” then you need a new game plan.  Instead of reheating the bird, consider making turkey dumplings.  Hearty and delicious, turkey dumplings are a great way to make every meal with that bird a great one.

To make leftover turkey dumplings, you will need two cups of turkey gravy, two cups of vegetables (green beans, carrots, mushrooms, etc.  your choice), 1 lb cubed turkey, half a teaspoon each of salt, sage, thyme, and pepper, a cup of biscuit mix, 1/3 cup of milk, and a quarter cup of chopped parsley.

To start the turkey dumplings, combine your gravy, turkey, veggies, sage, and thyme and simmer over low heat.  Add in salt and pepper to taste.  In another dish, mix your milk, parsley, and biscuit mix.  Drop teaspoonfuls of this mixture into your stew, cover, and cook for ten minutes.  Then take the lid off of the turkey dumplings and cook for ten more minutes.  Remove from heat, serve, and enjoy.

One of the best parts of this turkey dumplings recipe is that you can use leftover gravy and vegetables in addition to leftover turkey.  It can be a great way to ensure that none of your holiday food goes to waste without requiring your family to eat the same thing every day for the next week.

We all want holiday meals that delight the taste buds, and this turkey dumplings recipe is certain to do just that.
